Description
this is the The Yaquina head lighthouse at Newport, OR. It was built in 1871 and is the oldest structure in Newport. It also is the the only lighthouse in Oregon that still has the living quarters attached, and is the only historic wooden lighthouse in Oregon that is still standing.
Made with a mechanical pencil outline, a plastic eraser, artist tape, water, India ink pen, White India ink pen and India ink.
The border outline, and drawing outline was done in pen, the white on the lighthouse were made with white India ink pen, the rest of the painting was painted with ink. The water was mixed with the ink to make the light grey seafoam, the medium tone seawater was made using less ink than the dark Cliffs.
